Description

Wellwellwell. Hot pink, my least-favorite color in the universe. XD

~ElysianSkies's contest deadline was today, but I ended up going camping a day earlier than scheduled. So I dragged my laptop (but FORGOT my tablet!) with me. I lined the images in pencil and took photos of them (no scanner, so sorry for the terrible quality). Then I used a LAPTOP mouse pad thingy and Gimp to do these.

NIGHT:
- White silk dress with sheer white fabric for the arms. Hot pink and blue beadwork on sleeves, hem, and bust.
- Hot pink heels. O_________O Talk about statement, ladies and gents.

DAY:
When I think summer, I always connect it to Alaskan summers--which aren't hot at all. (I mean, I live there, come on.) I was thinking about this and remembered that native Alaskans have what are called qaspeqs (kuspuks). According to this site [link] a qaspeq is "the traditional Yupik overshirt type garment worn by both men and women. Men tend to wear them primarily for ceremonial occasions, but for women they are everyday wear. Loose-fitting, they are extremely comfortable."

- Modified Inupiat summer top called a qaspeq. Traditional Alaska native eagle design enbroidered on the back. Bright overlapping stripe details. Cotton.
- Sulfur-dyed extra-long skinny jeans with slits on the bottom sides that can be opened or closed with snap fasteners. Whoo, long sentences.
- Accessories are beaver-toe necklace and bracelet. Circular joints painted bright blue.
- White pointed heels. (That can't be seen very well n illustration. .w.)

HB pencil, MS Paint, and GIMP.

The looks are good, but I don't like the fact that you took the challenge and turned it 180 degrees... summer wear is light fabrics and short cuts, stuff you'd wear when it's hot... so why would you take it to Alaska?
That aside, I like the day look a lot... great cut on the top and I like the slits on the pants.
